Ovulation Tests, Package of 10 Tests

These tests examine your sample for Luteinizing Hormon (LH). Luteinizing Hormone (LH) is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland. In females, a sharp rise in LH levels triggers ovulation and the development of the corpus luteum. The LH surge is closely related to ovarian ovulation in female menstrual cycles. Ovulation typically occurs within 24- 36 hours after the LH surge, and fertilization can only occur within 6 and 24 hours after ovulation. Monitoring for this LH Surge, can help a couple monitor for the ideal time to conceive a pregnancy.

When to begin testing:

The day of the LH surge can vary from woman to woman and from one menstrual cycle to another. To determine when to begin testing, calculate the length of your usual menstrual cycle. Measured the length of one cycle is from the first day of your period (the day of the first bleeding) to the day before the next period begins.

Day 1 is considered the first day of bleeding or spotting. If your cycle length is irregular, with variation of more than a few days each month, take the average number of days for the last 3 months.
